For traders here, the main questions are whether it is safe, legal and right for you. This review covers all three, based on verified 2026 data.

IQ Option accepts Filipino users under its international regulation, but it is not registered with the Philippine Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), so no Philippine regulator protects you directly. Read the regulation section in full before you decide.

Quick Verdict

Our rating

4.1 / 5

IQ Option is a good fit for users who want a trading platform that feels simple and easy to learn. It works especially well if you want to practise first on a free demo account and then start small with real money, with deposits from ₱580 by GCash or Maya and trades from ₱50.

It is less suitable if you want a broker registered with the Philippine SEC, MetaTrader support, or more advanced tools for algorithmic or professional-style trading.

If ease of use, local e-wallets and small starting amounts matter most to you, IQ Option is worth trying. If you need local regulatory protection or a traditional broker setup, compare it with other platforms first.

What Is IQ Option? Platform Overview

IQ Option is an online trading platform founded in 2013. It gained recognition for making trading more accessible to everyday users by replacing complex terminals with a clean, visual, and lightweight interface.

Who Should Use IQ Option?

Best suited for:

  • Beginners who want a straightforward platform with no steep learning curve
  • Mobile-first traders who primarily trade from their phone
  • Traders who prefer to deposit and withdraw via GCash, Maya, or other local e-wallets
  • Users who want to start small and practise through a demo account first
  • Those who understand and accept the regulatory risk of using an internationally regulated platform

Not suited for:

  • Users who require a broker registered with the Philippine SEC
  • MetaTrader 4 or MetaTrader 5 users
  • Traders who need algorithmic trading or advanced professional tools
  • Anyone who would need Philippine regulatory authorities for dispute resolution

Minimum Deposit, Withdrawal & Trade Size

Minimum deposit₱580 (approx. $10)
Minimum withdrawal₱120 to ₱731 by method (₱580 for GCash and Maya, ₱500 for banks)
Minimum trade size₱50
Demo accountFree, $10,000 virtual funds (replenishable)
VIP account (entry)$1,000 (₱58,000) cumulative deposits, entry level

These figures explain why IQ Option remains popular. You do not need significant capital to explore how the platform works, and the demo account lets you learn the fundamentals without any financial risk.

However, a low entry cost should not be equated with low risk. Small deposits make it easier to start, but they do not make trading easier or more profitable.

Deposits & Withdrawals

The minimum deposit is ₱580 (approx. $10). The minimum withdrawal is ₱120 to ₱731, depending on the method. You are expected to withdraw with the same method you used to deposit, mainly for anti-fraud (AML) compliance. Step-by-step help is in our deposit and withdrawal guide.

Important tip: Always complete your KYC verification (submit a valid government ID) before your first withdrawal. Skipping this step is the number one cause of delays when you want to access your funds.

Withdraw with the method you deposited with where possible (AML rule). If you paid with a deposit-only method such as QRPH, InstaPay, GrabPay, Apple Pay or Google Pay, the withdrawal goes to another method in your own name, such as GCash, Maya or a bank account. The withdrawal form shows which ones you can use.

Fees, Spreads & Hidden Costs: Full Breakdown

IQ Option makes its money mainly through spreads and option payouts. Below are the other fees worth knowing before you deposit.

Trading costs by instrument

There is no commission on CFDs, the cost is in the spread, and the live spread shows on the trade ticket. Options have no spread, and your payout percentage is shown before you open the trade (for example, 85% on USD/PHP Blitz).

Non-trading fees: inactivity, withdrawal & overnight swap

Fee typeRateNotes
DepositFree (IQ Option side)Third-party fees may apply
First withdrawal each monthFreeAny method
Further withdrawals2%, max ₱1,500Minimum varies by method
Overnight swap0.01% to 0.5% a dayUp to 1.7% in extreme conditions; Friday is charged 3x
Inactivity fee€10 a monthAfter 90 days without a trade or deposit (logging in does not reset it)
Underage account closure$20 (one-time)If age verification fails
Currency conversionUp to 4%If you deposit in another currency (an account in PHP avoids it)
Most overlooked cost: Overnight swap fees can become significant if you hold leveraged positions for more than a few days, especially during high market volatility when the rate can reach 1.7%. Always calculate your swap costs before opening long-term positions.

Is IQ Option Legal in the Philippines? Regulation & Safety

IQ Option accepts users from the Philippines, with peso accounts and local payment methods. Filipino clients are served by Sky Ladder LLC, registered in Antigua & Barbuda with registration number ILLC 004 and registered with the Financial Services Regulatory Commission (FSRC) of Antigua and Barbuda under number RA000008. IQ Option is not registered with the Philippine SEC, though. This means no Philippine regulator or investor protection scheme can step in directly if a dispute comes up. This is not legal advice.

Philippine SEC advisory

The SEC published an advisory on IQ Option on 15 June 2021 (read the SEC advisory). In plain terms, it says:

  • IQ Option is not registered with the SEC and is not authorised to solicit, accept or take investments from the public.
  • It runs its platform in the Philippines without registering as an exchange (Section 32 of the Securities Regulation Code, SRC).
  • It is not a BSP-registered virtual asset service provider (VASP) under BSP Circular 1108 (2021).
  • It names a group called “Learn and Earn Online” as a promoter of the platform.
  • It advises the public not to invest, or to stop investing.
  • Salesmen, agents and online recruiters who promote unregistered platforms can face fines of up to ₱5 million and/or up to 21 years in prison (SRC Sections 28 and 73).

The advisory is mostly about the platform and the people who promote it. It does not tell individual users what their own legal position is, and we cannot advise on that. For questions about your own situation, speak to a Philippine lawyer or contact the SEC.

BSP VASP status

BSP rules require crypto service providers to register (Circular No. 1108, as amended by Circular No. 1206 of 2024). According to the SEC advisory, IQ Option is not on that list. This matters mainly for the crypto products on the platform.

What changed in 2025 and 2026

On 22 December 2025, the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) ordered internet service providers to block 50 unregistered platforms. It acted at the request of the BSP. In January 2026, the SEC issued advisories against Exness and HFM. Those advisories also name promoters, influencers and endorsers. IQ Option is not named in these 2025 and 2026 actions. They do show that regulators are looking at unregistered platforms and at the people who promote them.

Scams that use the IQ Option name

IQ Option is a real broker that has operated since 2013, and the platform is built by Quadcode. Withdrawals are real: Philippine accounts withdraw to GCash, Maya, eight local banks, cards, e-wallets and crypto, the app shows 1 to 24 hours depending on the method, the first withdrawal each calendar month is free and then 2% (max ₱1,500), and payouts only go to a verified method in your own name.

Most scam reports come from third parties that use the IQ Option name, not from the platform itself. The real risks of IQ Option are the products (options and CFDs can cost you your whole deposit) and the lack of Philippine registration. Watch for these:

  • Fake account managers who promise guaranteed profits or offer to trade for you
  • Coaching and signal groups on Telegram or social media that sell “guaranteed” signals or courses
  • Recovery agents who ask for a fee up front to get lost money back
  • Look-alike websites and apps that copy IQ Option to collect your login details. Sites with similar names, such as iqoptions.net or iq-option.com, are not run by IQ Option. The official sign-in addresses are iqoption.com and login.iqoption.com.

IQ Option only accepts payments from accounts in your own name. Treat any request to send money to a third party as a warning sign. To report a scam or an unregistered promoter, email the SEC Enforcement and Investor Protection Department (EIPD) at epd@sec.gov.ph.

How to Open and Verify Your IQ Option Account

Registration is straightforward. Users create an account online, typically with an email address, and can access both a live and demo account immediately. Sign-in addresses and fixes for login problems are in our login guide.

But registration is just the first step. Verification is the part that truly matters if you plan to use real money. You will typically need to provide:

  • Identity document: Philippine passport, driver’s licence, SSS ID, UMID, or PhilSys National ID
  • Proof of address: utility bill, bank statement, or barangay certificate dated within 3 months
  • Payment method verification in some cases

In the app, the flow is personal details, then an email confirmation code, then proof of identity. The document must clearly show your full name, photo, date of birth, expiry date, document number and signature. Upload it as a JPG, PNG or PDF up to 15 MB.

Many traders make the mistake of skipping verification until they want to withdraw funds. That is when delays and complications start. The smarter approach is to verify your account as early as possible.

How to deposit funds into IQ Option:

  1. Log in to your IQ Option account
  2. Click on your account balance and select ‘Deposit’
  3. Choose a payment method: GCash, Maya, or another available option
  4. Enter the amount (minimum ₱580) and click Proceed
  5. Confirm the payment. Funds usually arrive in 1 to 5 minutes for e-wallets and bank transfer, and are instant for cards

IQ Option Pros & Cons: Our Assessment

Pros

  • Low minimum deposit: just ₱580 (approx. $10)
  • GCash, Maya, Maya QR, QRPH, InstaPay and GrabPay deposits supported
  • Withdraw to GCash, Maya or 8 local banks
  • Award-winning proprietary platform: clean and intuitive
  • Free demo account with $10,000 virtual funds, never expires
  • Apps for Android, iPhone, Windows and Mac
  • Min trade ₱50
  • 24/7 live chat and email support
  • 300+ tradable instruments across all asset classes
  • Trading tournaments with cash prize pools

Cons

  • Should not be treated as a locally registered Philippine broker (SEC advisory, 2021)
  • No investor compensation fund for Philippine clients (Sky Ladder LLC)
  • No MT4 or MT5 platform support
  • Inactivity fee of €10/month after 90 days (logging in does not reset it)
  • Live chat only available after account registration

Final Verdict: Is IQ Option Worth It?

IQ Option is easy to like at first glance. It looks modern, feels simple, and takes away much of the friction that makes other trading platforms feel heavy. With GCash and Maya deposits from ₱580 and a free demo account, it is easy to see why so many Filipino traders try it. Here is how it fits three kinds of trader:

Editor’s verdict

4.1 / 5

For beginners: IQ Option is a capable platform entry point. The ₱580 minimum deposit, intuitive interface, and free demo account let you learn without risking real money. GCash integration makes it easy to get started. It is not registered in the Philippines, so read the regulation section and start with small amounts.

For intermediate traders: The platform covers 300+ instruments with high leverage and a clean execution environment. The absence of MT4/MT5 and limited independent research tools may constrain more advanced strategies. Suitable as a secondary platform if you already trade on a locally authorised broker.

For professional traders: We do not recommend IQ Option as a primary platform. Without MetaTrader or advanced analytical and algorithmic tools, it is not built for large-scale professional trading.
